Under the hood, the Coolsat 8100HD PVR's Sti7710 200Mhz Processor and 128MB SDRAM ensures offers smooth operation and efficient loading. The 8100HD offers Personal Video Recoding (PVR), USB 2.0 capability and High Definition playback through QPSK satellite reception and ATSC terrestrial reception. And the Coolsat 8100HD PVR tunes & decodes all 18 ATSC broadcast formats.

The Coolsat 8100HD PVR's High Definition tuner can display MPEG-4/H-264 display in the 1080i, 720p, 576p, and 576i output formats, which ensures good picture and sound on High-Def channels, plus Watch-and-Record capability for Personal Video Recording to external USB drives. And the 8100HD offers Multi-Picture support (4 - 16 pictures) and true 16:9 widescreen.

The 8100HD's USB 2.0 port allows you to connect an external USB hard drive (up to 500 GB) or flash drive to record and playback your favorite satellite TV programs. Or connect a USB multimedia device for MP3 or JPEG playback. And USB capability makes software updates easy. Just connect your personal computer, or plug in a USB flash drive to update Coolsat manufacturer software bin files. (You can also execute software updates via the 8100HD's traditional RS-232 serial connection.)

The fully DVB-S2-compliant Coolsat 8100HD includes a full complement of component outputs, including S-video and SPDIF Digital Sound (optical) audio output, HDMI output, Component and Composite Video Output (Y, Pb, Pr) and RCA Audio Output L/R. The 8100HD PVR can also decode Dolby AC-3 digital audio.

Other admirable features include: 8-Day Electronic Program Guide (EPG), 5,000-channel (TV and radio) memory capacity, Blind Scan (Power Scan), a Smart Card Reader, and 8MB of flash RAM for speedy channel changing.
